Blues Pulse
quinto & tenor sax,
2017.
“Blues Pulse” explores minimalism based on the musical tradition of Saluang jo Dendang (Saluang and Singing) in West Sumatera, Indonesia. The ostinato or repeating part of the saluang style of playing inspires the foundation of this composition. Saluang is a 4-hole obliquely-played bamboo flute.
