Aku Ingin (I want) is a visualization based on Sapardi Djoko Damono’s renowned poem with the same title. This work was created as a tribute to the Indonesian legendary author who passed away on July 19, 2020.

 

This visualization responds to the 2nd paragraph of the poem:

 

Aku ingin mencintaimu dengan sederhana:

dengan isyarat yang tak sempat disampaikan

awan kepada hujan yang menjadikannya tiada

I want to love you modestly:

with signs unexpressed

clouds to the rain that made them vanish
